Mission Excellence Facilitators
Mrs. Aboushaara has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and 11 years of teaching experience. She has taught at Al-Huda School in College Park, MD for 6 years, at Al-Andalus Institute in Columbia, MD for 2 years, and at MCS in Potomac, MD for 3 years. She is fluent in both French and Arabic. She has always received outstanding annual evaluations on both her teaching and professional services. It is her conviction that teaching is the most noble of professions as it serves to enlighten the mind to always achieve beyond its perceived limitations.
Mrs. Bayomi is a freshwomen at the University of Maryland, College Park, studying Microbiology and Art. She is well trained on critical thinking, leadership, and self-esteem. She is also an active volunteer with ILIA serving our homeless shelters constituency with advisory and leadership development. She has been in charge for various programs at ILIA for girls ages 9-14. She is an honors student and on the national honors society, gold honor roll, and principal’s honor roll. She has tutored in the past at Running Brooke Elementary School in Howard County and completed AP/GT classes in Math, English, Chemistry, Calculus, History, Pre-Calculus, Algebra, and Biology.
Mrs. Elansary is currently a High School student expected to graduate May 2013. She has maintained a Grade Point Average of 3.46/ 4.46. She excels in academics with almost all of her classes being GT or AP. Some of her courses include: English GT, American History GT, Geometry GT, Earth Science GT, Spanish 1 honors, AP Government, English 10 GT, Biology GT, Child Development honors, Computer Science Honors, Algebra 2, Spanish 2 honors, AP Psychology, AP English, AP World History, Pre-calculus, Independent Research GT, Chemistry GT, and Spanish 3 honors.
Mrs. Eltoweissy is a senior Government & Politics student at the University of Maryland, College Park and a policy analyst intern. She has 5 years of tutoring experience in a variety of subjects ranging from Science, English, and Arabic. Mariam is a Board member of ILIA, active volunteer in her local community, and a member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Mariam is a generally well rounded person who has high aspirations and truly enjoys helping others in any way she can.
Mr. Mahmooth is a recent graduate from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) with a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and a History minor. Currently he is working on pursing a Master of Arts in Teaching at UMBC part time. He hopes to use his science background and extensive experience in public speaking to pursue a career in education. He has had the privilege of attending the Baltimore City Teaching Residency (BCTR) summer training institute; where he was able to improve his instructional design and delivery, and work on his classroom management.
Mr. Shaikh received his degree in Mechanical Engineering with honors from the University of District of Columbia (UDC) in 2009. He is currently working on his Masters degree at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in Mechanical Engineering. He also holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education in India. Br, Meraj has solid experience in research and industry where he worked as a research assistant and mechanical designer. He has a number of honors and recognitions in Science and Engineering.
Mr. Waheed is a student at the University of Maryland, College Park, studying Chemical Engineering, Math and Nuclear Engineering. He has been on the honors lists at his high school and ranked among the top 5% of those entering UMD. He has earned numerous awards in Math, Physics, and Computer Science and brings experience working at NASA and UMD as an intern student scholar.
Mrs. Hashmi is a double major student at UMBC studying Arts in Modern Languages and Linguistics. She is a Humanities Scholar, Honor College Member, Semester Academic Honor, and on the President’s List and Dean’s List. She has volunteered at St. Agnes hospital using creative tactics to engage children in the in-patient pediatric unit, she also has experience in organizing events and has volunteered and held the position of Vice President at Colleges Against Cancer. Her interests are in Math, Science, Chemistry, Algebra I, Algebra II, English and Reading.
Mrs. Eltoweissy is a full time student at the University of Maryland, where she joined at the age of 16. She teaches high school and middle school English, Math and Science.
Mr. Khan is a full time student at University of Maryland and teaches elementary and middle school Math, English, Science and Arabic.
Mr. Ishaq is a full-time student at Prince George Community College. He volunteers his time with various youth programs as a coach, chaperon, mentor, and tutor. He teaches Quran and math. Muhammad is a hafiz and teaches Tajweed and Quran at Dar Al-Taqwa’s TAQI program. He has coached many youth at ILIA and brings to brothers a strong sense of motivation and inspiration.
